Blow on/off golf club grips
Future Project #2

This is so easy, even a girl can do it. Yes, even a blond girl...

First let me tell you why anyone would want to blow on their golf club grips.

1. It is the easiest and fastest way that I know of to install or remove grips and it only takes seconds.

2. No messing around with grip tape and solvent.

3. There is no waiting time for your grips to set up. They are ready to use.

4. You can easily feel when your grips are all the way on the shaft.

5. By being able to blow on and off your grips you now have the ability to custom fit (fine tune) the OD of your grips to your liking. Details explained further down.

WARNING
Using air tool accessories can be dangerous. Always be careful and keep away from children. Use protective eyewear at all times and select the right tool for the job.

CAUTION
Do not attempt to blow off grips that have been installed with tape and solvent. The amount of air pressure to do so would be dangerous. I recommend cutting off your old grips and cleaning the shafts of all tape and tape residue.

How to blow on golf club grips.

1. Make or purchase an air blow gun with a 3/16" air nozzle. The 3/16" is the same size as a common golf tee. Available at this link, and then click on the "Grips" tab.

2. Cut off old grips and clean shaft of all tape and tape residue.

3. To start with, set air pressure regulator at about 30 pounds. Slowly increase it until you can easily slide the grip on. The thicker, stiffer, more robust grips require more air pressure. You will get the feel for it after installing 2 or 3 grips.

4. Secure your golf club in a golf club vise.

5. Make sure the end of your club where you start the grip on has no sharp edges. File or sand smooth and put a small piece of masking tape just over the end of the club.

NOTE: Do not use any fluid of any kind. BLOW ON GRIPS DRY!!

6. Start the grip onto the end of the shaft.

7. Insert Grip Rite blow gun into the end of the grip.

8. Apply air and guide the grip onto the shaft.

9. You can easily feel when grip is all the way on the shaft.

10. While holding the grip on with one hand, let off the air pressure and remove the air nozzle.

Your club is now ready to swing.

Another great benefit of blowing your grips on is that you can now blow them off just as fast as you blew them on.

Try this for a perfect fit for you.

Blow off one of your grips and put on one layer of duct tape or masking tape (build up tape) on the shaft and reinstall the grip. Then do another club with two layers of duct tape. Swing them and hit some balls. When you find the size that you like best, simply make all your clubs the same.

Wishing the best of golfing to you.
